Puzzlebox
For the birthday of my best friend i decided to build a puzzlebox, because i got into puzzles lately.
So i designed four puzzles into one box.
First there is the box itself. You have to spin it to open the lit.
For that i build a simple box out of wood i had laying around.
Then i added some small wood pieces that had a hole in the middle to the top inside of the box. behind the holes where some bigger holes. Inside the holes are some nails that i cut to the right length. The lid have a small groove where the nails sit and prevent the box from opening. Only if you spin it all nails where pushed away and you can open the box.
The third one was in the box but put together on top of the lid.

I cut the pieces with the bandsaw and sand them so that they are fit together properly. The "K" i stained with some paint.
The lid also held the second puzzle. Her you need to free the ring from the sting. Pretty simple. For that i glued a piece of metal in the lid and block of wood to the string.
The last puzzle was also stacked into the box. The goal is to build a star out of several wood pieces.
I watched a tutorial for this one on YouTube. I cut the pieces and sanded them to fit perfect.
All wood pieces also were oiled.
The surprise was really nice a it took him serval hours to solve them all.
Overall a really nice gift.
