The loft net
After I moved into my house I had this big space left from the staircase.
To use that space I wanted a loft net.
A place where I can chill and watch some movies with friends.
I saw some pictures from loft or staircase nets on the internet but the all were connected at 4 sides. The problem: I only had three.
Or better two, since I couldn't really use the side with the window. The wall over the window isn't stable. So I decided to use anchor in the roof beams, the staircase wooden beam and the wall in the back.
I ordered a net and many ropes on the internet.
Unfortunately the net was a bit to big. It turn out okay in the end.
After many hours of knitting the net was finished.
The only problem the anchors in the wooden beam at the staircase wasn't able to hold the weight of two persons and bent.
The net was still usable for me but to unsafe for a second person.
After many month I decided to remake the loft net.
At the time I did fell a tree the other day.
I debarked two big branches from that tree and left them to dry.
When they were dry enough I used them and two already dried from the hardware store for a frame.
A third one from the hardware store I used as a pillar.
Then after everything was securely attached, I painted them and applied varnish.
After it was dry I could attach the net.
